One of the key supports provided by the department is the provision of grants for the procurement of core equipment/machineries on a cost sharing basis for new entrepreneurs, start-ups and for expansion of existing CSIs. The cost-sharing ratio is 90:10 for startups at the Startup Center and 80:20 for existing and new CSIs.
The scheme is instituted with the objective:
- To generate a multiplier effect of rural entrepreneurship by providing self-employment, new job opportunities, utilization of local resources and skills, raise income level, alleviate rural poverty and foster sustainable economic growth.
- To upgrade the level of technology and embrace modern efficient technology and enhance competitiveness.
